Overview

About high pressure water jetting

High pressure water jetting is the tool for blockages that a rod or a shovel won't shift. The jetter pushes a high pressure nozzle through the pipe, cutting through roots, silt, gravel and years of build up, and flushing it all out the far end. It cleans the whole length of the line rather than just punching a hole through the first blockage.

It's also the safest way to clean older pipes. Jetting doesn't scrape or stress the pipe the way mechanical clearing can, so it suits clay tiles, older concrete and novaflow just as well as modern PVC.

Good for: Anyone with a pipe or drain that's slow, silted, root bound or completely blocked.

Why it matters

Worth booking in

01

Clears what rods can't

Roots, compacted silt and gravel need pressure to shift. The jetter does it without digging the pipe up.

02

Cleans the whole line

A pipe that's only clear at one end blocks again quickly. Jetting flushes the full length.

03

Kind to old pipes

Water pressure cleans without scraping or stressing the pipe, which matters on older clay and concrete lines.

Our approach

How we do it

We get access at a sump, outlet or opened section, then work the jetter along the line in stages, flushing the debris out as we go. Once the line is clear we run water through to check flow, and if the jetting turns up a break or collapse we can track it and quote a repair.

How it works

What to expect

01

Tell us what's happening

Call or message with a couple of photos and a rough idea of where the water is going. That's usually enough to tell you what it needs and roughly what it'll cost.

02

We hunt it down

We jet, track and follow the line until we've found the actual problem, whether it's a blockage, a broken section, or a drain that was never connected in the first place.

03

Fixed, and flowing

Blockage cleared, repairs made or new drainage put in, then we check it's running before we pack up. If we spot something that'll cause you grief later, we'll tell you.

When to book

Signs it's time to get us out

If any of these sound familiar, it's worth a quick call, we're always happy to advise before you book.

  • A drain is slow even after it's been cleared
  • Roots or silt keep building up in the same line
  • An old pipe you'd rather not dig up and replace yet
  • Standing water at an inlet that never fully drains
Questions

Frequently asked

Will jetting damage an old pipe?
No, jetting is gentler than mechanical clearing. We adjust the pressure to suit what the pipe is made of.
Can it clear tree roots?
Yes. The jetting nozzle cuts through roots and flushes them out. If roots keep coming back we can track where they're getting in and repair that section.
Do you need a sump or access point?
Any outlet, sump or open end will do. If there isn't one we can open a small section with the digger.
How long does it take?
Most lines are done within a couple of hours. Long or badly silted runs take longer, and we'll tell you upfront.
