Winton
Winton is home base, so it's where we can get to fastest, often the same day for a blocked drain or a flooding yard. The country around town is mostly dairy on the Oreti flats, with a lot of tile drainage that was put in decades ago and has never been mapped. Tracking those old lines, clearing them and tying new novaflow into them is bread and butter work for us here.

Invercargill and the blocks around its edges are a short run down the road from Winton. The flat, low lying ground here holds water, and a lot of properties on the outskirts sit on old field drainage that was never designed for a house and sheds on top of it. We clear and jet blocked lines, track where they actually run, and put in drainage around sheds and driveways where the water is pooling.

Gore and the Mataura valley are a regular run for us, with a mix of dairy, sheep and cropping country that all relies on drainage working properly. The river flats hold water after a wet spell and the tile drains are doing a lot of quiet work under those paddocks. We clear blockages, track lines that have gone missing, and put in new novaflow and catchments where the old drainage has given up.

The ground is a bit stonier and the runs longer, with plenty of culverts under tracks and races that silt up or get crushed. Otautau and western Southland sit on the Aparima, with heavy soils that pug up badly once they're waterlogged. A lot of the work here is getting water off paddocks and out of yards before winter, whether that's clearing existing tile drains, tracking lines to find where they've collapsed, or putting in new drainage with proper gravel so it actually runs.
